ENCOUNTERING JESUS

-the 2 disciples were disappointed, walkg away from Jerusalem 

-the Lord Himself was walking and talking to them but they don't recognize Jesus 

   -Jesus was alr there, not hidden or silence 

-at the table in the breaking of the bread, they recognized Jesus

-

-Christ Himself is the supreme gift of communion 

-come together to bread break.. to have an encounter with Jesus at the table

-

-instead of celebrating, they went back to the table.. cos communing with Jesus is the most impt

-

How to approach the table

1. Yield to the Spirit's conviction

-only those who see their sin, those who recognize their weaknesses, see their own impurity will yield to God

-Holy Spirit leads us, showing us-

-the conviction is a drawing us to come to the table 

2. Examine our heart 

-after we examine, we don't ignore but come to the table cos only Jesus can heal

-

3. Forgive orhers 

-its 2 dimensional... Our communion with God and relationship with people

   -either will affect another 

-we must let go

   -forgiveness is letting go

4. Pray with expectation 

-supersubstantial ... Children of Isreal having the bread daily that come from heaven 

-daily bread is not just bread but also from heaven (spiritually)

5. Receive by faith 

-Jesus spoke the blessings 

-Jesus spoke the word

-Jesus words are powerful

-

-Jesus joins the bread and the wine to Him

-at the table is where we encounter Jesus

-

THE SEVEN MOMENTS OF FAITH

-faith works through love

-no love no trust, no faith

-what we want may not be what God's desire for us 

-thr bible does not ask us to believe in ourself, but to believe in God 

-salvation is by grace.. we can't earn it 

-the faith we have is from the Holy Spirit 

-the word of God is the seed, Holy Spirit gives life and faith is the fruit 

-the Holy Spirit persuade us to believe 

how the spirit works faith in us

1.

-most people hear by the ear and not the heart 

-we need to Holy Spirit 

-when the written word is turned into a loving word =rhema

   -a specific word/sentence

2. The spiritt persuade us to believe the Word
-not the self confidence 

3. the spirit prompts us to speak the Word 

-

-speak to the mountain 

-Jesus said "says" 3 times, "believe" 1 time 

-faith speaks whatever God first spoke 

4. The spirit enables us to visualize the Word

-not only ask but also to imagine 

5. The Spirit empowers us to obey the Word 

-

6. The spirit moves us to rejoice in the Word

-

-

-the praise is not earning the victory but it's the expressing for faith, confessing in songs for what they believe 

7. The spirit fills us with hope through the Word 

-faith is the substance of things hope for 

-eagerly waiting = expectation... Not giving up 

-faith requires patience and perseverance

   - wait in hope

-faith is not self manufactured

-
