5 ways to honor God

1. honor God with our whole heart

-God is interested in the internal and not the external

-honoring God has to come from our heart

7 things abt the heart

a. speaks of our thoughts

   -thinking

b. speaks of our affections

   -feelings

c. speaks of our desires

   -desires, passion

d. speaks of our visions/dreams

   -dreams of our heart

   -we must guard the visions and dreams the Holy Spirit has put in our hearts

e. speaks of our motives

   -God check our motives on the things tt we say and do.. what is our true purpose

f. our heart speaks of our concerns

-what we are worried and anxious abt

g. speaks of our morality

-we must learn to honor God with our whole heart

-if we want the Holy Spirit to move in us, our thoughts, motives must be pleasing to Him

-fill our thoughts with God

-bring to God our dreams and vision

   -not for anger, revenge

Jesus' thoughts are always on the Father

2. honor God with our bodies

-not every sin is the same

   -some are more serious than others

-sex was a gift to Adam to Eve..

   -sex only can happen between husband and wife relationship

-our physical body has a very importance to God's plan

-without body, we cant fully express ourselves on earth and the new earth

-we need to keep our body as healthy and morally pure!

Jesus recognize that His body was a gift from God

3. honor God by enjoying our sabbath

Jesus went to the house of God once a week

Jesus serve God in the house of God

Jesus healed Peter's mother-in-law

Jesus spent the Sabbath worshiping God, serving God

-1 day a week to rest our mind and be recharged spiritually

   -sabbath is for us to be recharged

we must learn to rest in God

sabbath is not to add in to our daily busyness

honor God by keeping our sabbath

4. honor God with our worship

Jesus love to honor God by worship

-Jesus sing praises tgt with the ppl in the house of God

-Jesus was very active in praise and worship

-the most praise is when we dont feel like doing it

   -when life is going down

-make a decision to continue to praise God even when things are dark

   -miracles will begin.. if not, we will grow stronger in God

Jesus' heart is so heavy, but He still sing praises

we must learn to declare God's goodness in good and bad times

5. honor God with our giving

when we honor God in our best giving, God will provide in abundance.. principle of sowing and reaping

what is sow is what we reap

   -sow sins, reap corruption

   -sow ourself to spiritual things, reap life of Holy Spirit

-sowing and reaping also applies to relationship

   -seeds of kindness

every truth could be abused, but it cant be cancelled out

it all depends on the heart of the user

1. honor God with all our heart

2. keeping our body pure

3. take a day a week to fully rest in God

4. praise and worship God even in painful and difficult times

5. sowing and reaping..

HONORING GOD

openly appreciate and recognize ppl

honoring God begins with our heart and attitude

honoring God is from our heart and mind

-as a man thinks in his heart, so is he

-we are to think abt things tt are honorable

   -thinking anything worthy of praise

honoring God must begin with our heart and thinking

-honoring God begins from within

   -though in bad situations, think of things to could thank God for

Daniel have to choose...

   -stay faithful to God then be put in the lions den

   -deny God and stay alive

-Daniel was not shaken.. didn't react with anger, hatred

   -he prayed and praised God!

How to honor the Lord

1. communion

-when all the celebration is on going, Jesus prayed and thanked God the Father

   -Jesus didn't claim credit, but giving thanks and honor to the Father though demons were subject to Jesus name

we don't pray only if we are in a crisis or in need of something but always

-we don't keep talking non stop but always having God in our mind

-don't say anything tt will grieve the Lord

-Jesus honors the Holy Spirit, leaning on the Holy Spirit

-Jesus is always giving attention to the Holy Spirit

fellowship, joint of the Holy Spirit and intimacy

transformation happens in the presence of the Holy Spirit

2.

prayer is have a sense of presence and nearness.. then bless God

kneel before the Lord

-no matter what happen, we can bless the Lord

   -not depending on what is going on

-the opposite of praise of forgetfulness

   -we bless God so tt we will we will not forget the goodness of God

bless God's holy name no matter what

God will honor those who honor Him

-there is a promise tt whatever our hands lay on will prosper

-family will be blessed, there will be peace, joy
