BUILD TO LAST

everyone needs to have a vision

-it is the way they build the houses... its their obedience towards Jesus

how and where to build our foundation in life

1. build before the storm

-its not whether the storm will come, but when...

-when the storm comes, we dont have time to build.. at tt time, we will be seeking shelter from what we have built

   -we build shelter not to avoid storm but be prepared for the storm

-there are times of frustration, times of doubts

2. build below the surface

-before building the top, we must first dig and remove the dirt before pouring in the right foundation

   -let God remove what is not right... God is not trying to shame us, but pour in what is necessary

-dont think of what to build on the top

3. build beyond the present

-if we are building for eternity, how do we want to build our foundation?

-Jesus is interested in what we build in life

be grounded and rooted to God that nothing can shake

let God set the direction and pace in our life

THE HUMANITY OF JESUS

Jesus could have come down to this world as powerful superhero, but He took up the nature of servanthood

the key to living in this world is not easy, but we as human being, can have God who strengthen us

learn to depend on God

only when we are weak then God can be strong in us

only God can give security in life.. without God, we are bankrupt.. even if we are rich in everything

3 benefits of depending on God

1. healthy confidence 

-theres a difference between self confidence and God confidence

   -God confidence is having the courage to face anything in life despite limitations and weakness

-when we have God confidence, our mindset will change

-every time students go through a test, the teacher is always silent

2. healthy humility

3. balanced Christian

-balance is the key to life

-God wants us to be spiritual, but not to be out of this world

miserable comforters are people who are very spiritual but lost touch of the world

*they were good spiritual advice... but all failed to make humanity connections...
