LOVING YOUR NEIGHBOUR AS YOURSELF

-loving ppl of opposite cultures / beliefs

-love your neighbor as yourself.. it's a commandment from God

   -just like how God is

   -we can't do it simply in our own strength.. but when God's love and nature is in our heart

Jesus have to be our Lord

The way to do it is to make God the Lord of our life

self.. pride, arrogance

the Pharisees studied a lot abt God but practice otherwise

-if we are not careful, we will be proud...

-we become chosen cos Jesus ransomed us

-it's impossible to try to model Jesus and live like Jesus... but we can when we have Jesus in our heart

   -do we have more of Jesus or self?

-get rid of the self tt is hindering Jesus from becoming our Lord

the expert thinks it's impossible to love everyone... tts why he qn Jesus "who is neighbour"

your neighbour should not be limited to who.. It's anybody

-what if we were the one who is in need of mercy?

-what happen if the same thing happen to us

-one day, we may be the one in need of mercy?

-the expert is blinded by superior tt he may be the one in need

do to others you want ppl to do to you

-it's not just God is savior, but God is Lord of our life

-every act of love is unique

-love must be personal and sacrificial

-love has a name.. Jesus

-love is the giving of own self for the benefit of others

this is the kind of love

becos of unbelieve, power of God is shut down

openly recognize ppl

Jesus openly celebrated them, their value and worth

-honor is the key to access God's blessing

-Jesus also honors the ppl outside his family

only when we are secure in our identity in God

in Jewish tradition, the lowest servants will wash the feet of the guest.. as the road are dusty, its a must to wash feet before meal

Jesus loved them till the end even though He knew tt they will disregard Him

Jesus called His traitor "friend"

God is love!

-God is watching our response, how we treat others

-dont threaten those under us

-whatever good anyone does, he will receive the same from the Lord

-when theres respect, ppl are happier

-honor must be of thoughts, actions

-Jesus openly protected His against the 

Jesus showed encouragement

-try to think the best of others

-God is always thinking the best of us

-Jesus honors children 

   -children are not afraid of Jesus...

-the disciples dont honor the children

-God entrusted children to us!

in the mist of Jesus busyness, Jesus gave the children attention

Jesus always take time to celebrate

-children have the ability to believe, trust and love

-we can learn simple faith, humility and openness of heart from children

God our Father openly honors Jesus

God's mind and eyes are on the children

every one is created in God's image... even if they are not God's children, Jesus honored them

-Zacchaeus was the most hated man in town (tax collector)

-everyone have a deep need for recognition

   -mention abt own's name in a nice way

-a smile = happy to meet you

-a frown = suspicious of you

-our smile conveys joy

Jesus isnt into Zacchaeus wealth but lead him to God

-it is easy to honor those who are alr honorable

-honor also those weaker, slower

   -prefer them over ourselves
