THE MINISTRY OF JESUS

Jesus wanted the disciples to know God as the Father
Jesus main ministry is to reveal God as the Father

1. Jesus came to reveal the Father
-more than His works, God wants us to be His children

-Bartimaeus is the least from the crowd, but Jesus took notice of him from afar
-Jesus wants to know what he can do for Bartimaeus --- what to do to fulfil the desire
God is not only able, but also willing

2. Jesus sends us to reveal the Father
God wants us to represent Him as His sons and daughter

how is God like?
-God is merciful
-God is gracious
-God endures longsuffering
-God is abounding in goodness

FATHERHOOD - father's Day

fathers have a lot going in their minds, but its their nature to not let ppl know but take up the burden himself
fathers give life lessons

a father's teaching is worth more than 100 instructors' teaching

7 contrast between teachers and fathers
as much as we expect our earthly father to have all the things tt we want him to have, but they are not perfect!
our earthly father...
1. deserves to be honored
-how we honor your father and mother will determine how far we are going to make it in life
-if we cant even withstand the tension at home, how are we going to manage the tension and stress outside?
-tension at home is preparing us to enter into the world
-God will eventually show the value of honoring
-faith cannot be transferred, but only be demonstrated

the nature of God is love
perfect love drives out fear
-its normal to feel fearful / afraid..
-but the fear tt its being God's punishment.. then we are not made perfect in love

God allows consequences to train us, not as punishment

-it is not a cry of betrayal, but a cry of trust in God

we need to start to see God as a Father... not one who is far away

-honor your father even if you don't see anything to honor abt
-obey God, honor your father and mother!
