it was appointed that human will die once before the judgment
-unless we are alive when Jesus returns, everyone will die
-we will grow old, suffer injuries, organs fail and eventually die
-bodies will be criminated or buried in the ground.. return back to dust
-we must learn to face death like Jesus
-still serving God, forgiving, healing, caring abt the needs of others, praying
-God uses experience of death to deepen trust and strengthen obedience
-we should not be afraid of fearful of death
-this is why martyrs can accept martyrdom rather than deny God
-for non believers, there is no hope to them when they die.. -so to them, death is a curse, a penalty, a fearful enemy
-for Christians, there's no curse.. Jesus took the curse on the cross.. we are not fearful of the power of death
-death is nothing but a door to paradise, to God's presence
when we die, we go direct to God's presence
-Jesus didn't teach abt soul sleep
-in death, we are still conscious
-Catholics teach tt upon death, the soul goes straight to heaven but the wicked will go straight to hell
-for those at are not spiritually perfect, the souls will go to a purgatory, to be cleansed through suffering
-purgatory could be shortened by ppl on earth prayers, good works and religious activities...
-Catholics believe tt infant baptism is very impt

-baptized infants who die will go straight to heaven
-unbaptized infants who die will go to hell cos not baptized but not punished cos they are too young to commit sin

-now resurrected for judgment
-judge can be condemnation or panel of reward (winners of different awards)
there's no condemnation in Christ
-Jesus has alr paid the price for our sins by being the penal substitute in the cross
-Judgment seat of Christ is not designed to punish believers but to reward for their action and faithfulness
-all believers no matter what will stand before the Judgment seat of Christ to give an account of their life
-will either receive awards or suffer a lost of rewards
-at no time will we lose our salvation
-we will not lose our salvation!
-unless rejected Christ, rejected sound doctrine, abandoned faith, persist in sin, backslide or blasphemed Holy Spirit
-when we stand before God, there will be no condemnation
-we will be evaluated based on what we have built on Christ
-in this context, fire does not purify the worker serving but test our work.. what kind of works have we done with our life
-works done by the energy of our flesh will be worthless
-works done by the power of the Holy Spirit will be rewarded
-if our work done is like wood, hay and straw will become nothing after the fire
-our hard work and busyness in life has no eternal value to God in His kingdom.. will be reviewed as nothing on tt day
-if there's no reward for us, God will not condemn us
-when we stand before God, we will be guilt free cos we are declared righteous
-not everyone will have the same reward
-some works are burnt away... suffer loss
-we will receive our full reward for our life and service
-our good works
-deny ourselves and take up the cross.. we are exchanging for great rewards in heaven
-show compassion to the needy
-each time we treat our enemies kindly
-pray for them, speak well for them, do good for them and forgive them
-giving sacrificially and generously for the gospel, we are storing treasures in heaven
-evangelize and disciple others
-endure injustice and persecution for Christ
-keep our hearts and motives pure.. we are getting ready when Jesus comes
-live a Godly life.. keep our garments clean
-reward crown of righteousness
-maximize the gifts and talents God has given to us
-care for our members
-reward crown of glory
-we should never grow weary for doing good for in due season, we shall reap if we didn't lose heart
-our hardships are only temporary.. our love, obedience and faithfulness will bring us eternal rewards
-for the righteous, it will be a time of reward at the judgement seat
-for the unrighteous, the book will be open and the sins will be found
-like there's different degree of rewards, the degree of sins will determine the degree of torment
-2 deaths.. physical death, eternal punishment in hell
-all the unbelievers, unrighteous will be cast into hell to join Satan, evil forces and the false prophet
all will stand at the great white throne for final judgement
the punishment and torment of hell is unending
when we have come to the great white throne, it's the end of the Day of the Lord
-new earth without global warming or natural disasters
-everything will be restored back to Eden-like condition
-new earth
-when believers die, new Jerusalem is where we will go to
-first heaven = heaven for now.. Paradise (temporary residence between death and resurrection)
-after God remix the heaven and the earth, this heavenly Jerusalem will descend from heaven and take up its new perm location in the new earth
the whole purpose of God's plan is to completely restore the fellowship between God and man
when we die, we will be with God.. but in the new earth, our experience with Him will greatly intensify
-there are so many pain in the present age
-pain from sin and evil, suffering of life and tragedies, death of love ones
-in the new Jerusalem, we will nv experience this ever again!
-God's redemption works is completed
-repaired what is fallen and cursed, perfected everything and everyone
-man are not only restore to the first Adam, but also matured and Christlike
-faith is all abt receiving!
-just like drinking.. no effort or work required
-for our salvation, we just simply rest on the finished work of Christ
-even in eternity, the just will live by faith
-regardless of the persecution we face, if we stay loyal to Christ and resist the temptation of the world, Satan and flesh, we will inherit all blessings of the eternal state
-we are followers of Jesus!
several kind of ppl who will not be in heaven
1. coward
-abandons faith in persecution, stubbornly persist in sins
2. unbelieving
-non-believers and believers who denied faith under pressure
3. abominable
-openly unclean and rebellious
new Jerusalem coming out of heaven to permanently locate on the new earth
unity saints of God in both Israel and the church
the new Jerusalem will be a perfect cube
only the believers of Jesus can live in the new Jerusalem
-12 kinds of precious stone..
-reminds of the breastplate of the high priest
-the power and authority of the high priest in the old covenant is now freely given to the ppl of God
-theres no physical temple in the new Jerusalem.. the whole city is holy
-our joy will not be based on the knowledge or beauty of created things (special lighting, equipment).. but on God the creator
-all the things we do in this life time.. jobs, vocations, creativity, innovations is not wasted
-God loves the creativity and innovations of His ppl
absolute triumph life over death
-the life to come will be a life of perfection
-no sickness or death
everyone in heaven shall see God's face!
God wants us to be alert, watchful and ready for His return
only God alone is worthy of our worship
-if the teaching of Book of Revelation is not sufficient, theres nothing more God can say
-man choose to sin cos they want to, not tt they dont know any better
-our salvation is purely by grace, and rewards purely by works
-doing God's commandments doesnt earn us salvation, but it is evident tt we are granted eternal life, tt God's grace is upon us
the sinful and wicked will nv make it to the new heaven and new earth
-the book of revelation is meant for all churches at all times
-spirit = Holy Spirit
-bride = church
-both are calling out to those who thirst to come and drink the water of life
-when Jesus comes back, it will be too late.. it will come a time where repentance is impossible
-a warning to those who have the access to the tree of life and holy city
-they will lose their salvation if they tamper with John's prophecy
-for all Christians, after we die,
-we know tt heaven is our home, the earth is a curse
-wealth, popularity and applause will mean absolutely nothing
-we will know certainly what is impt and what is not
-we will know exactly how we should have lived
-Holy Spirit is the power of the highest
