-144000 is symbolic of our travail here in earth

-Babylon has deceived many by her wealth, idolatry
-this will happen in the end times
-continuous worship Antichrist
-no one will casually or accidentally take the mark.. it's a conscious decision
-those who takes the mark will have no chance of repentance... forever irredeemable
-God is pictured to hold a cup, and the wicked have to drink it.. cup of judgment
-Jesus didn't want to drink from the cup... it's the cup of God's wrath which all of us have to drink
-but Jesus still drink it willingly for us (on the cross)
-we will find rest in God
-the wicked will have no rest.. their torment will be forever
-don't allow our actions, walk, vision and ambitions cause us to sin
-the wicked will not disappear, but tormented forever
-endurance - bear pain and suffering without complaint
-perseverance - continue in faith despite severe hardship and opposition.. keep on keeping on
-overcomer have to have patience
-evidence of patience is keeping the commandments of God and keeping the faith of Jesus
Holy Spirit is God... He speaks, He communicates
-intimately involved in our life, especially in our trails and sufferings
-there's rest for the righteous, but not for the sinners
-we are blessed cos
-we died as Christians
-every good thing we have done will not be wasted
-saved by grace, rewarded by works
-our works will follow us into heaven
Jesus will come back in a cloud at the 2nd coming
-sickle... harvest time
-harvest of salvation and harvest of wrath
-when Jesus returns at the end of the age, it will be harvest time
-1st harvest: all the Christians
-God allows evil to fully ripens
-ample opportunity for all to repent and believe in Christ, seek forgiveness and reconciliation
-allows the depth of sin to fully develop in those who forever turn their backs to salvation so tt no one can say God is unjust in His punishment
-but not allow evil to get out of control
2nd harvest : sinners
trampling the winepress is God crushing the wicked with His feet
at the 2nd coming, Jesus has come to judge the wicked
-there will be an outpouring of God's wrath and fiery of the evil, and the blood of the wicked will be shed
the destruction will be very great
-Egypt be destroyed by nuclear weapons
-only nuclear contamination will make the place uninhabitable
-it takes 40 years for the radiation from a nuclear fall out to reach a safe level again
-2 harvest in Rev 14
-righteous is taken into safety, then destruction comes upon the wicked
-similar to Noah (flood came only after Noah has entered the ark) and Lot (fire and brimstone after Lot had come out of Sodom & Gomorrah
-similarly, once the church is caught up to heaven, God will pour out His wrath upon the wicked
talks abt God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit
-it is Jesus who introduced this truth to us... if Jesus didn't come, we won't have known tt God exist in 3 persons
-without the Trinity, there will be no salvation
-God the Father planned to save sinners, choosing His son to be our sacrifice.. then God the Son at His father's will took on human flesh and redeem us, paid the price of our sins in the cross, and overcame death forever by His resurrection. He now lives as our baptizer, mediator, pioneer and ruler
-God the Holy Spirit sent by the Father and the Son brings prevenient grace to us.. draws and open up our heart and mind, teaches the truth tt brings conviction of sin to us.. then regenerate us into new birth and changes us into Christ likeness through an inner moral transformation
-3 person in 1 God
-"Shema" is recited twice a day to remind Israel tt there's only 1 God
-since only 1 God, why Trinity? it's the biblical witness
-the Bible reveals God is existing in 3 persons
Trinity
1. person of Father is God
-God is our Heavenly Father
Jesus readily forgives sin, something only God can do
3. person of Holy Spirit is God
-Holy Spirit is a person..
-He speaks, communicates, experiences emotions... grieves
-only person can do these
-Holy Spirit and God are used interchangeably
-Jesus baptism - Son is baptized, Holy Spirit descended like a dove, Father spoke audible from heaven
-Jesus casting out demons - Son performing the miracle, but it's the Holy Spirit giving the power and the Father's kingdom coming upon tt man
-closeness and unity between the 3
-Jesus said the Holy Spirit is exactly like Him
-Jesus tells His disciples tt having the Holy Spirit is as good as having Him.. Jesus and the Holy Spirit is so the same
-Jesus is not just an ordinary man!
-all 3 are always divine... not only at some point in time
-analogy of water, water can only appear in 1 form (ice, liquid or vapour) at a time
-but God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit appear at the same time
during Jesus baptism, all 3 appeared at the same time!
all 3 persons are involved in every divine activity
Revelation - originates in the Father, proceeds through the Son and is completed in the Holy Spirit
Salvation - the work of Father, Son and Holy Spirit
God is real, substance
-God is identical, nothing One has and the other doesn't
-bad analogy of an egg - yolk, white, shell
-the yolk is not the white which is not the shell
