   -can connect with people without losing own beliefs

   -dont flip flop just to please others
   -able to handle conflicts, no need people to like us

5 things Jesus practice
1. practice slow-down spirituality
-slow down, "wasting time" in God's loving presence
2. Sabbath rest
-we got to learn to enjoy God
-only when we have rest in our body, soul and mind only then we have easy yolk
3. silence and solitude
4. devotional love
-devotion = affection, loyal, surrender to God
-loving God for who He is. Not what He can give
   -not just prayer answers
-love is not measured by productivity, it's measured by presence
5. detachment
-to a point where the world doesn't matter

the spirit's voice in lament

-faith is not just positive words... Should also include our negatives to God

-Jesus drew Psalms of lament and lament before God
-lament is not complaining, it's a journey from hurt to joy, death to life, transform us
Elements of lament

-it is reaching out to God when everything feels far, feels wrong

-although Jesus didn't retalliate, He didn't keep the suffering to himself, but entrust Himself to God the Father repeatedly, continually
