THE PRAYER LIFE OF JESUS - how should you pray

prayer is
1. mediation
2. conversation
3. confession

the entire life of a believer is repentance
   -we should seek God's forgiveness
the ten commandments don't save us but let us know in which area we have sinned against God that we can seek forgiveness

images is something to do with our mind.. any that is occupying our mind
-it could be fear, worry, anxiety
any vows made that we are no longer keeping it
have we communicated with God
murder is not just an act.. but also anger, resentment, spiteful words
given our minds to immorality

-forgiving those who have hurt us
-we forgive not to earn forgiveness from God but to be like Jesus
no one loves more than Jesus
-we are hurting ourselves by holding on to resentment
*forgiveness is a choice!
4. Petition

-in prayer, we must learn to ask
-you ask so tt you receive!
   -in Jesus name
-but to be in line with His creater

-pray boldly in Jesus' authority
   -pray in confidence and believe!

pray persistently!
-keep on praying until answer comes

-faith pleases God!

-visualize and believe in our heart for the healing
--healing is part of the work of the cross

-adore: deeply love the person who he / she is
-prayer is not just prayer list

THE PRAYER LIFE OF JESUS - hearing from God

WHY MEDIATION IS SO IMPORTANT
1. mediation kept us pure from sin
-prayer shows how we really are through prayer

2. mediation saves us from depression

life feels frustrating cos you may be happy and sad on different day
   -joy comes through mediation

3. mediation preserves our physical health
4. mediation brings us into a conversation with God
-only when there is a 2-way conversation, that is a full encounter

-Jesus remembered the scripture and mediated
-Jesus always prayed to God the Father that He received revelation from God

murder is not only physical but also on our attitude
-adultery is not only the act, but also our heart

*how did Jesus know all this? He knew it from God the Father
-its one thing to know Jesus in principle and another to know Jesus in experience!

comprehend = power to grasp

*width of Jesus: love / mercy, length of Jesus: patience
*Jesus wept when we wept, Jesus rejoice when we have joy
*height: human love is conditional.. Jesus love is unconditional

*mediation turns theology into experience

-the anointing of the Holy Spirit

*fear of the Lord: not doing things that will displease the Lord

-God knew exactly what we needed

**prayer must be a dynamic conversation.. heart-to-heart sharing
