-to love like Jesus, theres no other than apostle John, apostle of love
-transformed from someone angry, explosive to someone who is known to love
when we do reflective thinking, God will show us another side that God wants to add into us
only when we recognize and admit that tt area needs to change only then we can change
John realized tt his temperament needs to be controlled through reflective thinking
-to love does not come naturally to John
-anger is a learned behavior
-not only John is the son of thunder, his brother James behaves the same
-surely something they learned from something / surrounding
from the story of adultery women, John learned
1. love is a balance of grace and truth
-John is a man of conviction and absolutes
-right means right, wrong means wrong.. tts no middle ground
-cant take injustice
-if Jesus were to forgive the women and let her go, John will be so disappointed with Jesus' leadership
John defend truth
John displayed narrow-mindedness-Jesus didnt punish her nor degrade her but ask her to sin no more
-Jesus knows tt the women suffered shame, but did not degrade her
-John realized that truth must be accompanied by grace
2. love is a balance of forgiveness and restoration-Peter denied Jesus, and John was there standing next to Peter witnessing
-Peter was the Jesus' favorite disciple and John being a man of absolute and full of conviction... John witnessed Peter denying Jesus
-John witnessed Jesus forgave Peter and restore him completely with love
-Peter cancelled himself out but Jesus restore Peter's ministry back to him, no diminishing factor
-we may disqualified ourselves, God will not..
-John learnt.. love is not only forgiveness but also restoration
-all the disciples left Jesus when he was crucified
-John was there till Jesus died.. he witnessed the greatest love
-John witnessed the worst injustice.. Jesus is innocent, just, holy, loving, done no wrong.. He was accused and suffered
-John cant reconcile injustice, but Jesus forgave
