LOVE OF JESUS part 3

the darkness inside and outside of us

6. love is not easily angered
-we often meet irritating ppl
-love is not easily provoked
-easily irritable , sensitive to what ppl say is not being loving
-being angry is not sinful but being a angry person is!

-even God gets angry, but He is slow to anger, abounding to love

-Jesus hardly gets angry
-even if Jesus is angry, He nv lost control or lost His cool
-though He was constantly provoked by His enemy

Jesus was a very good natured person, tts why little children likes to be ard Him

-to be Christ like is to be good natured like Jesus
   -focus on the unlimited patience of Jesus when we are feeling angry

revival don't come cos of efficiency, but when God's love is present and tangible

-love is the fruit of the spirit, temper is the fruit of the devil
-like any fruit, it has to be cultivated
   -each time we give in to temper, we become angry ppl

-rattlesnake is the most poisonous snake
-when a rattlesnake is stressed out, it becomes so angry tt it loses self-control and bites itself and die
-when we go into a rage, we are poisoning ourself with bitterness...
   -a part of our soul dies

Jesus was patient with His disciples
   -Peter, the talker..long promises, short delivery
   -James and John, sons of thunder..self-righteous
   -Philip..always slow the learner
   -Thomas, the doubter..always struggling to believe
   -Judas, the traitor..selfish, disloyal man

-Jesus nv lose His cool..
   -only rebuke, always a teacher correcting His students

-we need to have a high tolerance towards ppl

-temper is a bubble releasing frustration deep inside of us

7. love keeps no record of wrongs
   -love doesn't keep a record of what others did wrong to us

-Jesus did not keep record of that ppl done wrong to Him
-we must forgive completely all the time..till we have forgotten

forgiveness is not easy.. maybe its the toughest decision to make

forgive =
-to completely let go
-its not a feeling, but a decision to let go

God wants us to forgive for our sake
-if we don't forgive, we relate everything to hurt

-we are not to be naïve tt allow others to take advantage of us
-if we don't clear the list of offences.. we wont get out of it
-ppl tend to
   -rmb past wrongs to gain upper had on a future argument
   -may tend to think of the worse of ppl so tt we can justify the reason for revenge

8. love does not delight in evil
-not being happy when bad things happen to those we don't like
-love is nv glad at bad things
-when others are weeping, love weep with them... when others are blessed, love celebrate with them

-Jesus shows compassion and healed His enemy

don't gossip!
   -ppl thinks tt gossiping to others so that others can pray for the suffering.. its just an excuse!
-love doesn't gossip

if the wrong is not repetitive / serious / a crime, and the person is repentance.. we should allow God to work

-Ham gossips to his 2 brothers

-the 2 brothers didn't want to know if Noah is shameful
   -instead they covered Noah's shame

when ppl gossip, don't join in...

this describes how Jesus is like

*stop angry easily
*destroy all mental ledger of wrongs
*stop being a gossiper
