THE VALUE OF HONOR part 2

after His dad, Joseph's death, Jesus took the responsibility of taking care of His family

not one of His siblings believed in Jesus

even Jesus' brothers mock at Him.. they didnt believe and support Him

none of Jesus' siblings showed up

ppl who hurt us the most are those who love the most

   -but Jesus wasnt angry at them

Jesus appeared privately to James

-11 disciples at the upper room (where the last supper was 40 days ago)

-James and Jude, both brothers grew in the Lord

Jesus first love the siblings unconditionally..

   -a reconciliation of relationship

-conflict is part of life

-ppl gets defensive whenever theres a personal attack.. and conflict begins

-"always" and "never"... gives ppl the impression tt they are like this and not willing to change

-focus on the problem and not the person (personal attack)

if reconcile is possible (is at us), we should reconcile

-being angry is normal, and we are not wrong

-anger is only a sin only if we hold it longer than reasonable

-holding anger for too long will allow Satan to enter

-let our words impart grace

   -not just gracious, but not grieving the Holy Spirit 

   -bitterness

   -wrath.. only God can have wrath without losing the Holy Spirit

we are not greater than God.. if God can forgive us, we should also forgive others

-if we lose love, we lose everything

   -without love, there is nothing inside of us

-rage will rob us from inheriting eternal life

3 things tt measure of our walk with God

-they are interrelated

1. our love for sound doctrine

2. our love for our brothers / sisters

3. our love for personal morality

in honor, Jesus preferred John over Himself even though John is the junior

John started to doubt Jesus though he knows and see it himself that Jesus is the messiah

-Jesus spoken the truth in love

   -a gentle correction in private.. not a moment of anger 

-in a a conflict, correct in private, honor in public

-to our best ability, whenever possible, love covers and protects.. unless is illegal

even though in public, dont fight fire with fire

-John isnt one living for wealth, but life of self-denial, closer communion with God

-Jesus denied Himself and became a sacrifice for us

John is greatest man cos he prepared the way for the messiah

-when John is in doubt, Jesus didnt shame him is public

-when God forgives, He will also forget
