THE VALUE OF HONOR part 1

 

-think the best thought of others

-Jesus wants us to even those whom we dislike

Jesus is always caring and honoring

-don't think the worse of others

-there must be patience.. brotherly affection

-don't be tired or weary in loving, serving, honoring

-spirit of honor is active!

-Jesus ask us to take the back seat.. let others have their preference first

1. Jesus was honoring to parents

at adulthood, we are no longer under our parents authority.. but we still have to honor them

one of the responsibility as children is to take care of the needs of our parents

-at the cross, Jesus was concern abt His mother

-honoring parents is the 5th commandment!

Mary was pushy, but Jesus didn't get into a tiff nor embarrass Mary

-its not easy and often impossible

   -tts why we need the Holy Spirit to help us

2. The spirit of honor in a marriage

-for a marriage to work, there must be honor both ways

-without honor, our prayers will be hindered

   -affects our communion with the Lord

1. attention

-how to greet each other

-talking to each other, share heart to heart

-make a priority to communicate

-give attention to one another

 

2. appreciation

-there is tremendous power in words

-appreciation kills the dullness

affection

-expressing love through touch like holding hands, pat on the shoulder

3. affection

we honor not cause they deserve it or not, but its done unto the Lord

we can be angry, but after tt, we need to let go
