the way of perfection - prayer

-prayer is not only just asking God for things but also opening ourselves to God.. so that the Holy Spirit can shape us till love overflows to others

1. The prayer of devotion

-Through thanksgiving, praise and worship

Thank God for His goodness, praise for His greatness, worship for His beauty

-creates unity

-thanksgiving : gives peace... Instead of being anxious abt tmr

-praise : offered as sacrifice in the mist of our pain, brokenness

   -breaks the chains

-worship : coming into the beauty of God

-confess our sins to God daily

-without holiness, we can't see the Lord

-bring our flesh to the cross and take authority to the sins

-

3. The prayer of faith

-mountain 

   -symbolises the challenges, obstacles that is impossible to remove

      -God is standing with us.. all we need to do is only believe

   -also symbolises encountering God

      -is where our struggles and God's presence intersects.. but we need to pray!

         -as Jesus was praying, He was transfigured

-we have to come before the throne of Grace and boldly ask in Jesus name

   -ask.. not demand

-in Jesus name.. Jesus is holy.. anything not in line in God's character, it will not be answered

   -not in our worldly wants.. to be in line with God's will

-

-pray by faith and persistently

-

-

-Jesus prayed but heaven is silence

-

-not that we give up on life.. but to not be emotionally attached

-attachment : the need to cling on to something or someone to be happy

-our attachment will become idols

-real peace and joy only comes from God

-our spiritual life with God is to let go of things and people.. everything except God

-desires is what moves us forward

-desire is different from need

   Desire - need but can live without it

   Need - require to live / happy

-goal : whatever we situation are in, we know that the Holy Spirit will use it for our union with God
