FAITH AND PRAISE numbers 21

a difference between old and new generation response to crisis

how to respond in a crisis
1. respond in faith
-how the first generation responded
-because of their unbelieve, they died
they looked to the Lord and overcame the crisis

respond in faith! Satan's objective is to steal and rob our faith
if our faith is intact, though we may fail.. we will rise again!

can you trust God and be faithful?

during crisis, don't stop believing!
the penalty of sin and unbelieve is death
-God's solution to bring healing is to look at the bronze serpent
-its not the bronze serpent tt have some supernatural power.. but responding in faith
-we may fall into temptation
-repent! and fix your eyes on Jesus!
-the Word! what He promised to do
keep your eyes on God!
by the Holy Spirit, we can bear the fruits of the Spirit --- kindness, gentleness, [the 9 characteristics]

the Israelites is going round and round in the wilderness
-the Lord showed up... God is still here no matter where we are
-we may be feeling lost.. but God is still here!
in the wilderness, when they are going nowhere, they sang a song!
2. response with faith
when we are singing praise, we are mediating on God's glorious splendor. speak of God's work, utter the memory of God's goodness
-however, as they began to face crisis, songs starts to diminish
-its in a I, me thing to them
3 things about praise
1. praise is authentic

-David is making music to the Lord
-David express his feeling, not trying to hide himself
life is filled with betrayal, anguish, but its doesn't stop there

praise acknowledges God true fully!
-Jesus is honest abt the betrayal
-at the same time, Jesus acknowledges God true fully
don't let crisis steal our songs
3. praise is creative
no matter what is happening, God is still make a way when there seems to be no way

praise creates a way when theres no way
