REJECTED BY MEN, CHOSEN BY GOD

David was rejected by his own father

we expect to face rejection in life
Jesus also have to deal with rejection

the devil uses rejection to draw us backwards
Cain was rejected and directed his anger to the person closest to him --- his brother
when we face rejection, we run to the end of it (divorce, resignation) cos of our pride

truth abt rejections
1. rejection could be a result of other ppl's issue, not your value

sometimes, its not David's problem, but Jesse's problem
2. rejection could be a result of other ppl's issue, not your value
-at the beginning, Saul loved David... but soon David exceeded the expectations of Saul
-God wants to heal us from rejection
how David responded to rejections
1. ask God to enlarge his heart
-bigger the heart capacity, greater the ability to follow God's word

God didn't choose David cos of his moral and values.. but cos David is running after God's heart
David s trying to forgive and love just like God did
2. didn't take revenge
Saul tried to kill David, but David still respects Saul
David had 2 opportunities to kill Saul, but David didn't..
there are times when we need to hold our tongue
Jesus didn't rebuke those who accused Him to the cross but Jesus prayed for them
our anger and frustration cant change ppl ard us, but we can change ourselves
3. cries out to God
a sign of acknowledging the pain of rejection
-ppl harden their hearts to prevent getting hurt
-we need to admit that we have the pain
-God wants us to cry out to Him
-don't be afraid to cry to God

4. look to God
-a lot of times we are waiting for ppl's apologies
-we cant hold our healing hostage for ppl's growth
-we can get healing from God without the apologies from others

David who was rejected by his own father became the greatest king
